UMD BULLDOG SOCCER

A storied Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Tournament run brought the Bulldogs (16-4-1) the second seed and their first-ever opportunity to host NCAA Division II Central Regional action. A storied run by NSIC foe and the region’s fifth-seed Southwest Minnesota State through the first two rounds of the NCAA tournament, paired with UMD’s second-ever postseason victory, a 1-0 defensive battle against Winona State University, lands the Bulldogs back in the seat of host next week when the Central and Great Lakes regions come together for the next round of NCAA II postseason play.

When: Friday, November 22
Time: 2:00 pm
Where: Malosky Stadium
Opponent: Southwest State Minnesota

UMD will also host Quincy vs. Grand Valley State at 12:00pm on Friday. The winners of Friday’s games will play on Sunday at 1pm.

UMD BULLDOG VOLLEYBALL
The No. 2 UMD volleyball squad will look to extend its nine-match winning streak into the postseason as the Bulldogs take on the University of Sioux Falls in the opening round of the NSIC tournament on Wednesday.

When: Wednesday, November 20
Time: 7:00 pm
Where: Romano Gym
Opponent: University of Sioux Falls

UMD boasts a pair of NSIC Players of the Week for last weekend’s action in senior outside hitter Katie Lange and junior libero Julie Rainey. Lange led the league in kills, including an effort of 31 in a win over then-No. 1 Concordia-St.Paul. Rainey set the new UMD career digs record, with 30 against CU and now 1,710 for her career.
